Narodowi Bank Polski (the National Bank of Poland) started selling a new 20 Zlotych commemorative banknote as of 11 August, 2020. The note commemorates the Battle of Warsaw. The Battle of Warsaw was a decisive episode of the war against the Bolsheviks. The front of the banknote depicts Józef Pilsudski (1867 - 1935) the Chief of State (1918–1922) and the First Marshal of Poland (from 1920). The skyline of Warsaw is visible in the background. The back of the note presents a central fragment of Jerzy Kossak’s painting "The Miracle on the Vistula" under the Polish national colors. It depicts a symbolic scene of chaplain Ignacy Skorupka (1893 – 1920), who was a Polish priest and chaplain of the Polish Army, who also took on the role of leading soldiers of the volunteer military formations to attack.
